Meet Pam Kappa, a Business Executive working in our Uganda team.

Today, we shine the spotlight on Pam Kappa, a dedicated SmartPA Business Executive currently based in Uganda. Pam's journey to SmartPA has been a dynamic one, marked by a diverse career path that spans office administration, bookkeeping, and management accounting. Her well-rounded skill set in accounting and financial administration positions her as a valuable asset to our global operations.

Currently based in the city of Kampala, Pam finds joy in being close to her family and friends, saying "I absolutely love being close to family and friends that I grew up with, the beautiful natural surroundings and not to mention the weather! Even though I still have strong ties to the UK which I consider my second home and divide my time accordingly."

Outside of her professional commitments, Pam embodies the importance of work-life balance. She actively engages in supporting a local orphanage through volunteering and fundraising, exploring national parks, spending quality time with friends and family, and indulging in the simple pleasure of watching movies.

 

What attracted you to working for SmartPA? 

"When searching for a role that would allow me to balance both my work and personal life, I came across SmartPA during my online research. The alignment of SmartPA's values with my own made the decision easy, and the rest, as the saying goes, is history!"

 

Tell us about the training and support you have received from SmartPA.

Delving into her journey with SmartPA, Pam underscores the meticulous training and support she received. "Before we begin supporting clients, we are required to be trained to the required standards," she explains. Pam took part in a comprehensive six-week online CPD accredited training, where constant support and feedback ensured a smooth transition into her role. The emphasis on individual growth is clear as Pam notes, "This ensures SmartPAs are ready to provide the highest level of service, while supporting our career journey."

 

How has SmartPA helped you grow as an admin professional and as a person, and what are your plans for the future?

"The exposure I have got while working for SmartPA for the past 2 years, has enhanced my experience. No two days are the same, different clients have different tasks and different systems that they use. I find that I learn something new everyday, and this experience becomes in valuable for future clients, providing them with fantastic expertise and maximising ROI!"

 

Give us a favourite example of how you have helped a customer.

"I encounter several scenarios with different clients where their books are recorded manually. The first thing I do is demonstrate the benefits of automated bookkeeping through different software available on the market. This not only saves them money but also reduces administrative time, improving accuracy and efficiency."

 

If you had to recommend SmartPA to your friends, what would you say?
